WHAT IS XEOMIN TREATMENT?

Xeomin is an injectable neuromodulator of Botulinum Toxin type A that works as muscle relaxant, in order to reduce the lines that are caused by dynamic wrinkles which form as you smile, frown and raise your eyebrows. Xeomin is the latest generation of Botulinum Toxin that has zero impurities and free of protein complex, making the face looks naturally fresh when given in adequate amount.

IS XEOMIN FOR YOU?

Take a look in the mirror and notice if you start having some lines on your face that will not go away even when you are not expressing anything, or if you have strong facial expressions that might cause wrinkles in the future? If your answer is yes, the lines are too strong or visible, then you might need some Xeomin. You can consult our Puriva Doctor who will recommend how many units needed versus which specific areas that need the Xeomin injection.

HOW DO WE DO THE XEOMIN INJECTION?

After a thorough consultation with Puriva Doctor, then we are ready to do some injections, with the following steps:

First, the Doctor or Nurse will clean your skin from makeup, dust or sunblock.
We will put some antiseptic cream before administering the injection (please let us know if you have any allergy to antiseptics or alcohol).
If needed, the Doctor will put marking to pinpoint the injection site.
The Nurse will then assist to put ice to numb the area of injection.
Our Doctor will inject the Botox according to the area of injection.
That’s it and we are done!

WHAT SHALL YOU EXPECT AFTER XEOMIN INJECTION?

Around 3-5 minutes after the injection, you might still see some bumps which are quite normal, the body will quickly absorb it in less than 5 minutes. If your skin is sensitive, you might have injection spots or bruises, but do not worry as you can cover it with makeup concealer. It will be gone by itself around 3-7 days after, and it will not affect the result of the Xeomin.

WHAT TO DO OR NOT TO DO AFTER XEOMIN?

After injection we will ask that you:

Do not lay down flat for at least 4 hours after the Xeomin injection.
Do not do strenuous exercise, swimming, or sun tanning for the first 24 hours after the injection.
Do not do facial or massage or laser treatment over the injected area for at least 2 weeks.

WHEN CAN I SEE THE RESULT? FOR HOW LONG?

Xeomin result will slowly start to perform from 3 days until 14 days after the injection. So you need to wait patiently until the toxin is fully performed in two weeks. Xeomin will last individually depending on your body; most of the time it lasts around 3-6 months. When you are active or your facial muscle is quite strong, it usually lasts a shorter period of time, but no need to worry as it is normal. The current studies stated supplementation with Zinc helps to maintain the neuromodulator to last longer, and Zinc is also good for your immune system in general.

Toxin can also be used to reduce Masseter’s muscle activity if you suffer from grinding or clenching your teeth when you sleep, slight injection at your jaw also helps to contour the face to give a more V shape face.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE COST OF YOUR ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT?

The answer depends on how many areas and how many units of Botox or Xeomin that you will need. Kindly consult our Puriva Doctor who will recommend only a sufficient amount. Our Clinic charges Rp. 85k/unit of Botox or Xeomin. As rough guidance:

Crow’s Feet area: 12-20 units
Frown Line area: 14-20 units
Forehead area: 8-16 units
Masseter area: 32-48 units

ANY OTHER THING THAT I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT XEOMIN?

We have a new protocol in Puriva Clinic to reduce the possibility of resistance in Botulinum Toxin type-A injection. We will alternate the usage of toxin type for each and every patient. One time using Botox and the other time we will use Xeomin. Usually, you will need to repeat the treatment about 2-3 times per year.

If you do not continue the treatment, will your face be worse or look older? No, but please do not forget that – with each passing day, we are actually getting older and of course the natural aging process will happen.
